pop albums for your healing era
a mix of gen z and millennial artists for your listening pleasure
I’m a huge believer that the music you listen to can help shape your world. While listening to one of my favourite albums Affirmation by Australian 90s pop duo Savage Garden, I realised I have such great favourite albums that make me feel so alive.
I’ve learnt so much about the world through music; the lyrics and melodies getting me through life in many ways. So, here are my favourite pop albums for your healing era.
hold the girl by rina sawayama
Rina Sawayama is a Japanese-British singer who I love with my whole heart. Saying that her album Hold the Girl is life-changing is an understatement. It’s an incredible run of tracks in a perfect order that explores topics such as being queer, growing up, and intergenerational trauma. From start to finish, this album is pop perfection.
affirmation by savage garden
Darren’s songs are like a storybook to his life, and the thing I love about his music is that it has never followed the trends and has spoken for itself, and that has resonated with the general public. This album is forever a classic and a staple for my listening.
in a world like this by backstreet boys
This album is like a burst of positivity to me. In their documentary titled ‘Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of’, the Backstreet Boys mentioned how this album was more controlled by their wants, contrasting to their previous albums where they didn’t have as much input into the creation of their records.
backflips in a restaurant by grentperez
I absolutely love grentperez! This album serves up stunning love songs and different genres that speak to Grent’s versatility and growth as an artist. I love the feeling I get when I listen to him; his soothing voice along with his upbeat tracks make for a feel-good album perfect for your healing era.
where do butterflies go in the rain by raveena
Punjabi-American artist Raveena incorporates her culture as well as spirituality in her music, which I find unmatched. Her music is just so beautiful, and it’s such an experience to listen to. I haven’t listened to her in a while but when I do, it’s always so special and makes me feel so happy.
